Bengaluru, Dec 11: The Congress party scoring a spectacular victory in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh Assembly election has provided the much needed cushion to the ruling JD(S)-Congress Coalition government, in Karnataka, which repeatedly faced constant threat by the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to destabalise it.
Reacting sharply on Congress party’s victory in three major Hindi speaking states, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswmy said that “The result is a clear indicater of things in store for a change in the next General elections”.
Speaking to UNI, Dr Ajay Singh, a Congress MLA, hailing from Kalaburagi, opined that “With our party emerging victorious in the Assembly elections, the coalition government has received a much needed booster to thwart any attempt of destabilizing by the Opposition BJP leaders in Karnataka”.
“The success of the Congress has sent a strong signal to those who are attempting to come to the seat of power through backdoor” he added.
Former Minister and Congress MLA, H K Patil, said that “The results have proved that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is losing his sheen and popularity”.
