Cong expresses doubt about getting time for important issues in assembly session

Bengaluru, Sept 13: Former chief minister and leader of the opposition Siddaramaiah on Sunday expressed doubt about getting time to discuss important issues in assembly session commencing September 21.

Releasing the book of Justice H N Nagamohan Das on ‘Farmers Security, Country’s Security' (rithara bhadrat he and deshada bhadrathe) here on Sunday he said the state government has brought anti people, anti farmers bills and amendments, hence the Congress party's intention is to discuss in details inside the assembly and brought before the people, however, expressed doubt about enough time for this during this session as it was very short period of eight days.

Stating that farmers has been facing both flood and drought across state besides Covid-19 which has been severely affected, but the government instead of mitigating the suffering it brought in APMC act amendment breaking the farmers back bones, he alleged.

The Karnataka government has announced that Nandini milk will become ₹4 costlier per litre starting April 1, 2025. This is the second price hike this year.

The decision was made during a cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Karnataka Cooperation Minister K N Rajanna and Animal Husbandry Minister K Venkatesh said the increase is meant to support dairy farmers by covering the rising costs of producing and processing milk.

Officials also said that:

>> The extra money from the price hike will go directly to the milk producers.

>> The earlier ₹2 price hike (announced on June 26, 2024) will be withdrawn.

>> The new price hike of ₹4 will apply to both 500 ml and 1-litre packets.
