Mysuru, Dec 13: The Karnataka government Food and Civil Supplies Department will soon introduce One Time Password (OTP) to supply monthly ration to beneficiaries having difficulty in providing fingerprint, P Shivanna, joint director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, said here on Thursday.
In a release issued here, he said that at present beneficiaries getting food grains through Fair Price Shops (FPS) after providing Biometric details. Added to woes of beneficiaries in some places getting proper internet connection is a big issue and fingerprint details are not matching in some cases.
In the current year, as many as 7456 BPL cards have been issued in Mysuru. About 15739 people had applied for the cards of which 605 applications were withdrawn and 760 were rejected.
