Bengaluru, Sept 14: In a major development, the State Government on Monday accorded permission to prosecute two IPS officers, to the CBI, in relation to the multi-crore IMA scandal.
According to official sources, the officers, against whom permission was given are, Hemant Nimbalkar, the then IGP CID wing, and Ajay Hilory, the then Deputy Commissioner of Police (Bengaluru).
It may be recalled that the people, had lost over Rs 4000 crore from the I-Monitory Advisory Private limited which had accepted deposits form the public, and later cheated them.
The State Government had handed over the Investigation to the CBI, to investigate into the case later.
The CBI had already arrested kingpin of the IMA financial fraud, Mansoor Khan, and was put in the Central Jail.
