Govt orders reopening of Anganawadis in Karnataka

Bengaluru, Feb 10: After a gap of almost 10 months, the Karnataka Department for Women and Child Welfare has ordered reopening of Anganwadis across the State.

In a circular issued here on Wednesday, the district administration and Deputy Directors of the departments have been asked to take necessary steps to reopen Anganawadis with 16 point SOPs including mandatory consent of parents, only children between three to six years to be allowed and activities restricted to 0930 hours to 1200 hours.

The circular said that only five children should be allowed at once and a schedule should be made accordingly for all children attending anganwadi.

Only those staff with negative Covid-19 report must be allowed to conduct activities and wearing masks and maintaining social distance is mandatory, it added.
