Bengaluru, Mar 15: In a major blow to Muslims in Karnataka, the High Court has upheld the ban on hijab imposed by the BJP government in educational institutions.

Deputy Congress leader UT Khader’s suggestion that the government should organise harmony meetings in every district as a precursor to the Invest Karnataka summit led to some pandemonium in the Assembly on Monday.

The police have tightened security measures across Karnataka over the hijab judgement. The High Court of Karnataka is going to pronounce the judgement over the controversy on March 15. The pronouncement will commence at 10.30 am.
