Hyderabad, May 28: YSR Congress Party leader Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, who was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on charges of corruption, will be produced in court Monday, officials said.
Jagan, as the MP popularly known, remained in Dilkusha Guest House, the CBI camp office. Charged with illegally amassing wealth, Jagan would be produced in the CBI court at the Nampally court complex after a medical examination.
The CBI, which arrested Jagan Sunday evening after three days of questioning about investments flowing into his companies after his father became the chief minister, is likely to seek his custody for 10 days for further interrogation.
The Nampally court complex is under police siege. CCTV cameras have also been installed around the complex to keep vigil on the movement of people.
All roads leading to the court complex have been sealed to prevent Jagan supporters from gathering.
Jagan's wife Bharathi, sister Sharmila and close aide Vijay Sai Reddy Monday morning called on Jagan at the guesthouse.
Bharathi, Sharmila and Jagan's mother Vijayamma were forcibly lifted from the guesthouse late Sunday night after they sat on 'dharna' on the road demanding that the CBI give them reasons for his arrest.
Police also arrested several leaders of YSR Congress party. Vijayamma and other family members later sat on the protest at their Lotus Pond residence.
The YSR Party has called for a shutdown across the state to protest Jagan's arrest.
Police have already imposed prohibitory orders and stepped up security in Hyderabad, Jagan's native Kadapa district and other parts of the state.
Jagan, 40, is one the richest MPs in the country with declared assets of Rs.356 crore last year.
