Mumbai, Sep 3: Another case of sexual assault by the five accused in the Mumbai photojournalist gangrape case has come to light with a woman alleging that she was raped by some of the culprits in the gang at the defunct Shakti Mills compound here.
According to a police official, the woman claimed to be have been criminally assaulted in July this year by some of the men arrested in the photojournalist case.
She too was brutalised at the deserted mill compound and has identified some of the assaulters, the official said today.
The victim had approached Bhandup Police Station with the complaint. Accordingly an FIR was registered and the case was transferred to the N M Joshi Marg police station in Lower Parel, the official said.
During interrogation, the Mumbai gangrape accused had told the police that they made several women their victims in last six months including the young scribe, a ragpicker and a commercial sex worker.
On August 22, the 23-year-old photojournalist was gangraped by five persons at the desolate mill, when she was on an assignment with a male colleague.
All the five accused - Salim Ansari, Vijay Jadhav, Mohammed Kasim, Hafiz Shaikh alias Kasim Bengali and Siraj Rehman Khan and a minor - were arrested and are currently in police custody.
They were booked under IPC sections 376(D) (rape), 342 (wrongful confinement), 506(2) (criminal intimidation), 377 (Unnatural offence) , 201 (Causing disappearance of evidence of offence), 120 (B) (criminal conspiracy) and 34 (common intention to commit an offence).
