Bengaluru, Jan 26: Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala on Tuesday said that the state has become a model in the country in terms of controlling Covid-19 virus.
Speaking after unfurling the National flag at Manekshaw Parade ground here, he listed out the state government’s achievements.
Stating that with the cooperation of the people, the Covid warriors, has helped to bring under control the pandemic with complete success.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Atma Nirbhar scheme, being able to innovate two vaccines for domestic as well as affected in the foreign countries is a big achievement in the shortest period.
He said under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi the vaccine will be made available to everyone in a phased manner with the first phase already begun for the covid warriors across the country who have served the country restlessly day and night which can be highly appreciated by everyone, he added.
Besides, successfully controlling the spread of Covid-19, the State has provided Rs 824.21 crore for 16 lakh migrant workers and distributed 90 lakhs food packets during Lockdown, he added.
Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, Legislative Assembly Speaker Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri and City Police Commissioner Kamal Panth were, among those, present on the occasion in which public participation was banned due to Covid-19.
