Mangaluru, Dec 28: Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation (KEONICS) Chairman Harikrishna Bantwal on Monday said the will be submitting a memorandum to Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa to set up a model IT Park in the Port City here in memory of Bantwal Ramakrishna Baliga, the first Chairman of KEONICS.
Addressing a press conference here, he said it was the vision of Baliga that helped in the creation of the Electronic City in Bengaluru. However, Baliga’s efforts went unrecognised, he said.
Further, setting up an IT Park in Mangaluru would ensure job opportunities to nearly 20,000 youngsters and help solve the problem of unemployment.
He said that the IT Park in Mangaluru needs 100 acres of land which is readily available. A software hub will be set up on a three acre land at Derebail and it has already secured the approval.
