Mangaluru-Bengaluru train services likely to be restored after Sept 20

Mysuru, Sep 13: As the work continues on clearing debris on railway tracks between Sakleshpur and the Subrahmanya Road Ghat section of the Hassan-Mangaluru section, Mangaluru-Bengaluru train services will remain suspended till September 20.

A release by the Mysuru Division railway authorities said the debris and boulders were cleared on the tracks in 67 locations between Sakleshpur and the Subramanya Road Ghat section on 56 Km stretch of the Hassan-Mangaluru Section.

Restoration work is ongoing at one location. Railway staff and earth excavating machines are working around the clock to restore the tracks. “We have cleared all landslides sites, but one and this is a huge one. We estimate nearly 70,000 cu.mt of debris at this spot and will require at least 96-hours of round the clock work to remove,” S G Yatish, divisional PRO said.

The following trains will remain cancelled/partially cancelled:

- Train No. 16511/16513 KSR Bengaluru to Kannur/Karwar express journey commencing on Sept. 15 and 19.

- Train No. 16517/1523 KSR Bengaluru to Kannur/Karwar express journey commencing on Sept. 16, 17 is cancelled.

- Train No. 16512/16514 Kannur/Karwar to KSR Bengaluru express journey commencing on Sept. 16, 17, 18 is cancelled.

- Train No. 16518/16524 Kannur/Karwar to KSR Bengaluru express journey commencing on Sept. 20 is cancelled.

- Train No. 16575 Yesvantpur to Mangalore Jn Express journey commencing on Sept. 16, 18 and 20 will run between Yesvantpur to Hassan and is partially cancelled between Hassan to Mangalore Junction.

- Train No. 16515 Yesvantpur to Karwar express journey commencing on Sept. 17 and 19 will run between Yesvantpur to Hassan and is partially cancelled between Hassan to Karwar.

- Train No. 16576 Mangalore Jn to Yesvantpur express Journey commencing on Sept. 17 and 19 will run between Hassan to Yesvantpur and is partially cancelled between Mangalore Jn to Hassan.

- Train No. 16516 Karwar to Yesvantpur Journey commencing on September 18 and 20 will run between Hassan to Yesvantpur and is partially cancelled between Karwar to Hassan.
