Karnataka Sangha Sharjah gears up for decennial celebration

Sharjah, March 13: Karnataka Sangha Sharjah (KSS) is one of premier Kannada Association working under the auspicious of the Indian Association Sharjah, came to existence in the year 2002 with an objective to promote Kannada Culture as well as helping the community people. KSS recently unanimously elected veteran and one of the founder member, Sathish Poojary as its President for the year 2012.

As scheduled Karnataka Sangha Sharjah is gearing up with all preparations for Decennial Celebration which will be held on 18th May, 2012 at Holiday International Hotel, Sharjah. As released to the media this will be a fun filled multi-cultural event including Mayura Award presentation ceremony.

Well known leaders and dignitaries from various religious faiths will be specially flown from India along with local guests to witness the mega event. The grand celebration will be a day long event with variety of cultural activities.


Karnataka Sangha Sharjah is well known for its charitable works for the last 10 years which includes free health check-up back home for the masses, free medical check-up for its Members and families in the UAE, Providing financial aids to few deceased member’s families, ‘Sion Ashram’ of Belthangadi, ‘Sandhesha’ of Bijjodi, Mangalore, provided air tickets to some inmates to repatriate to India, and so on.


President Satish Poojary has appealed all Samaritans and Kannadigas living in UAE to be part of the event in large number and support KSS in continuing the noble cause.

Ajman: Ashok Bai Baria (44), a resident of Valsad - Ahmedabad, succumbed to a heart attack in Ajman. 

The incident occurred on March 13 morning at his residence, following which he experienced severe physical distress leading to the fatal cardiac arrest. 

Fishing has been a longstanding activity in Ajman- UAE, with Baria being actively involved in the profession for many years. 

Salam Pappinissery, CEO of Yab Legal Services in the UAE, has informed that all necessary arrangements are underway to repatriate the deceased's body to his hometown.
