Bengaluru, Mar 25: Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker Ramesh Kumar today reserved his order on Resignation tendered by Congress MLA Dr Umesh Jadav.
The issue was crucial for Dr Jadav, who has already joined BJP and got ticket to contest from Kalaburagi in the Lok Sabha election against senior Congress leader M Mallikarjun Kharge, even as Congress Legislative Party leader Siddaramaiah's recommendation to the Speaker to disqualify him from the Assembly since he has violated the party whip to attend CLP meeting, is still pending before the Speaker for disposal.
The Speaker following objections to his (Dr Jadav) resignation by some of the representatives of voters, on Monday heard both the side and reserved his orders. The representatives of Electorates of the Chincholi Assembly constituency, from where he was elected in the 2013 Assembly election, objected to his resignation stating that he was elected by the people for a five year term and without seeking permission he has tendered resignation.
The constituency is suffering from acute drinking water problems, the member instead of looking at the electorates problem has shown interest in contesting in the Lok Sabha election and cheat the voters who voted for him. They appealed to the Speaker not to accept his resignation instead advise him not to cheat the voters.
