Mysuru, Oct 10: The Technical Committee, headed by Dr M K Sudharan, has issued guidelines with restriction for the 'Dasara festival beginning from Oct 17 this year.
As per guidelines, the festival, including culture programmes, will be held only at Sri Chamundeshwari temple, atop of the Chamundi hills and at Mysuru Palace only.
The team led by Dr Sudharshan, Dr Hamood Sheriff, Member Secretary and Dr Lokesh Alahari member of TAC visited both the places on Friday. After consultation with Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sinduri, decided to strictly limit the entry up to 200 persons only.
Whereas in Mysuru Palace, cultural programmes in the evening for 8 days from October 17 to 24 with limitation to just two hours per day by local artists only and not exceeding 50 persons.
The Committee also recommended that the illumination –selected areas- in the evening 1900 hours to 2100 hours for ten days only.
On the finale of the 'Dasara festivities', the famous 'Dasara' procession (jamboo savari) was only limited palace premises, with 300 persons shall be allowed with all covid precautions.
The team said in view of the ongoing Covid pandemic with fatality, it is strongly recommended making "Dasara" 2020 celebrations virtual for the public. Consequently, the public is not allowed this year for all the events.
The number of persons to be allowed for the events shall be strictly adhered to RT-PCR negative test report done after October 14 shall be mandatory for all those attending the events this includes officials, staff, security personnel media personnel and others.
The artists are other performers shall be local artists preferably from Mysuru and other districts of Karnataka only.
The district administration shall organise adequate and appropriate publicity well in advance this year following restrictions due to Covid-19.
