Udupi, Dec 13: The court of the Additional Judicial Magistrate First Class has sentenced a person for forging the signature of the former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
The court found Niranjan Chidanand Bhat guilty of cheating people and bringing disrepute to the late Kalam’s reputation by forging his signature.
A press release issued here on Wednesday said that the court, on December 10, sentenced Niranjan Bhat, a resident of Moodabettu in Kodavoor village here, to three years of rigorous imprisonment under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and imposed on him a fine of Rs. 7,000.
