Mysuru, Nov 2: Renowned Chemist and former University of Mysore Vice-Chancellor Prof KS Rangappa figures in the list of World's Greatest Scientists released by the US Stamford University.
India has one of the world's top scientists. Stanford University lists 2 per cent of Scientists. Among them is Prof KS Rangappa's achievements in the category of Organic Chemistry.
Prof Rangappa in the World Wide Ranking is ranked 2181 and his 438 research papers are considered ranking. There are an estimated 750 Universities in the country (state-owned), probably the only one of them is Prof Rangappa.
Prof Rangappa has set a milestone in the field of Science and has presented more than 500 international research papers and has won 11 different research patents.
Many of his findings in Molecular Chemistry are now in the clinical trial phase in China, Singapore. Another speciality is that around 350 to 400 researchers from different countries are conducting research with Prof Rangappa.
India has one of the world's topmost scientists published by Stanford University.
Speaking on the occasion Prof Rangappa said, " I am happy to receive the highest award in the world of science. It was a true recognition of the research I had done for the last 40 years".
