New Delhi, Nov 17: Superstar Amitabh Bachchan has posted a clarification on social media after reports of his car meeting with an accident in Kolkata swiftly became viral. On Thursday, new agency reported that the wheel of Big B's car came off while he was on his way to the Kolkata airport. However, the 75-year-old superstar rubbished the reports and tweeted, "I am informed by concerned well-wishers and media, that I had a close escape from a car accident in Kolkata .. that is incorrect .. there has been no accident .. I am well." Big B was in Kolkata last week to inaugurate the 23rd edition of the Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF), which was also attended by Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Kamal Haasan and other stars.

The news agency report quoted a senior secretariat member, who said, "The wheel on the left rear-end of the Mercedes carrying Bachchan got detached from the vehicle on Dufferin Road when he was going to the airport to catch a flight for Mumbai. The car was provided by a travel agency and we have show-caused it over the incident." He also added that an initial investigation led to the discovery that the vehicle's "certificate of fitness" had expired.
Meanwhile, a video of Shah Rukh Khan, riding in the backseat of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's Santro, is being extremely loved by Twitter. In the video, Ms Banerjee drops SRK at the Kolkata airport after the KIFF event.
