Noted veteran Kannada writer KB Siddaiah passes away

Bengaluru, Oct 18: Veteran Kannada writer KB Siddhaiah passed away on Friday morning at Manipal Hospital here, following brain hemorrhage that he suffered after getting injured in a road mishap recently.

Siddaiah sustained severe injuries while his driver died on the spot when their car crashed while heading towards his farm near Suganahalli-Kenkere. A Dalit rights activist, Siddaiah was a close aide of former Karnataka Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Assembly, Siddaramaiah. The former CM had also visited recently him in the hospital.

65-year-old Siddaiah survived by his wife, two daughters and a son. His body will be taken to Tumkur for public homage at town hall and later will be cremated at their farm.
