Jeddah: As part of the 74th Indian Independence Day celebrations, India Fraternity Forum has launched a plasma donation campaign in Jeddah. In a ceremony at Indian Consulate Auditorium, Acting Consul General Y. Sabir officially inaugurated the campaign.
He said that plasma donation is the best gift we can give back to this country, which has shown great examples of humanitarianism by placing great emphasis on the control and treatment of Covid-19 epidemic. He added that he was very happy to be able to inaugurate the campaign during the Independence Day celebrations.
Chairman of the Saudi Society of Transfusion Medicine, Dr. Salwa Hindawi greeted the occasion. She praised the occasional blood donation camps conducted by Fraternity Forum at the University Hospital.
She said that this is the first time a voluntary organization has come up with the idea of donating plasma. Blood Transfusion Center Consultant Dr. Nihal Yaqub and Ayub Hakeem, President, Indian Pilgrims Welfare Forum greeted the function. Forum Jeddah Regional President Fayazuddin presided. Iqbal Chemban anchored the function.
