Dammam: Indian Social Forum celebrates Kannada Rajyotsava

Dammam: Indian Social Forum celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava in Dammam recently. The program commenced with wishing all Kannadigas and welcoming the guests to the podium by host Mr. Zainuddin. Social workers Mr. Joey Fernandes and Mr. Anwar Sadath, ISF-Dammam State President Mr. Mohammed Sharief, ISF-Dammam State Vice President Mr. Salahuddin, ISF National President Mr. Ashraf Puttur and IFF District President Mr. Sajid Valavoor were present in the program. Mr. Mohammed Naushad, State Secretary, ISF-Dammam has taken the charge of welcome speech.

"It is our responsibility to protect our language, culture and identity and to promote its importance among general public as the country is facing a difficult situation where the conspiracy to destroy the diversity are getting speed under the pretext of nationalism" said Mr. Muhammed Shareef, speaking on virtual program 'Anivasi Kannadigara Sammilana 2020' as a part of Kannada Rajyotsava ceremony held by Indian Social Forum at Dammam recently.

Vice president of SDPI Karnataka state, Mr. Abdul Majeed Khan delivering inaugural speech said, "the plight of farmers has been getting worse due to flood across the state. The government has been setting up unfavorable laws on farmers endangering their survival. Unwanted issues like Hindi imposition, farmers bills were put forward while ignoring major agricultural problems."

PUCL state vice president, famous artist and writer Mr. Venkat Raju said, "Kannada is not just a language, but also a life for Kannadigas. There are many instances where the languages formed nations. The efforts to destroy the languages will never succeed."

The organization felicitated the Kannadiga Achievers as it does every year. Mr. Joey Fernandes and Anwar Sadat who always in forefront to serve expatriates in their difficulties were felicitated. And also the companies like SAQCO and KMT were honored as 'Covid Warriors' for their effort to repatriate stranded expatriate kannadigas during Covid situation."

Different Cultural Programs

The point of attraction in the program was when the team of Indian Social Forum produced a skit portraying the present scenario of Karnataka. The viewers enjoyed the performance of children who walked over the stage wearing the costumes of historical personalities of the state. The program was live on Facebook and quiz was organized for viewers. The winners' names of different events were announced which was organized by Indian Social Forum as part of Rajyotsava. Thousands of people took part in the virtual program and the program was concluded by Mr. Imran Katipalla, State Gen. Secretary, ISF-Dammam with vote of thanks.
