Newsroom, Sept 29: In two separate cases reported from two different parts of Karnataka, a youth beheaded his friend in Mandya district, while another beheaded his lover in Kolar district. Both murderers walked into their jurisdictional police stations along with the severed heads and confessed to the crime.
Pashupathi (24), a resident of Chikka Hebbagilu near Malavalli in Mandya district on Saturday (Sept 29) walked into the Belakawadi police station with the head of his friend Girish (25) in his hand.
According to the police, the accused confessed to the crime and surrendered. Lewd comments by Girish on Pashupathi’s mother was said to be the motive behind the crime, said the police.
The incident triggered panic on either side of the road between Chikka Hebbagilu and the station, and none of the villagers/passersby dared to speak to the accused.
An axe that was used by the accused to chop the body was also recovered from the spot. Pashupathi has been arrested.
In almost similar incident, Azith Khan alias Saddam (28), a resident of Jaffarkhan Mohalla on Thursday (Sept 27) walked into jurisdictional Srinivasapura police station with a blood-soaked backpack.
When police asked him what his problem was, he kept quiet and opened his bag. To the horror of the policemen, the bag had a severed head of a woman. Police said that the man later confessed that he had chopped off the head of his paramour who, he said, had cheated on him. Police immediately arrested him.
SP Rohini Katoch Sepat said: “Saddam owns a mobile repair centre and also works as a salesman in a private company. He is married and has three children. He however, was in a relationship with Rohan Khanum (25), a resident of Neelasandra in Bengaluru who was deserted by her husband and had a child.”
She said that Saddam suspected that Khanum was having an affair with another man. Khan took Khanum to Guttahalli Dinne of Chinthamani taluk to an isolated place and killed her. Later, he packed the head in his backpack and hopped on his two-wheeler only to surrender at the police station.
