Bangalore, Apr 6: In two separate incidents that occurred in one hour, two schoolboys were electrocuted on Saturday morning. Incidentally, both were playing cricket when the mishaps occurred.
"The wire hung just 2-3 feet above the school building. It seems that Bescom failed to take proper precautionary measures. If we find any negligence on their part, we will book Bescom officials," police said.
In the second incident, Dinesh Ramesh, a Class 8 student at Jain English School, Ulsoor, came in contact with a live wire near a mango tree. A resident of Corporation quarters in Ulsoor, Dinesh was playing cricket at the Corporation ground when the ball got stuck on a branch. "Dinesh climbed the tree but the branch broke and he fell on the live wire. He was shifted to Hosmat Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival," police said. Dinesh's father Ramesh is a cab driver while mother Saraswati is a homemaker.
