It was a regular Saturday morning for class 3 student Bharath Narasimhappa. He was playing cricket with his friends at his school in Seegehalli, Kadugodi, near Whitefield. Around 8.30am, he went to the terrace to fetch the tennis ball and accidentally came in contact with a high-tension electric wire. Bharat was the son of daily-wage workers Narasimhappa and Bhagyamma, police said.

"The wire hung just 2-3 feet above the school building. It seems that Bescom failed to take proper precautionary measures. If we find any negligence on their part, we will book Bescom officials," police said.

In the second incident, Dinesh Ramesh, a Class 8 student at Jain English School, Ulsoor, came in contact with a live wire near a mango tree. A resident of Corporation quarters in Ulsoor, Dinesh was playing cricket at the Corporation ground when the ball got stuck on a branch. "Dinesh climbed the tree but the branch broke and he fell on the live wire. He was shifted to Hosmat Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival," police said. Dinesh's father Ramesh is a cab driver while mother Saraswati is a homemaker.
