Bengaluru, Jan 8: Opposition Leader in the Karnataka Legislative Council Kota Srinivas Poojary has reiterated BJP's demand for resignation of the Minister for Backward Class Welfare Puttaranga Shetty following confiscating of over Rs 25 lakh from one of his ministerial staff, recently.
Addressing newsmen here on Tuesday, he charged that “the discreet silence by the Chief Minister on the incident of seizure of money from a staff of one of his cabinet colleague would send wrong signal that Kumaraswamy is protecting his corrupt minister”.
Charging that former Chief Minister Siddarmaiah has advised Mr Shetty against resigning though he was willing to step down, BJP leader said that “by referring the case of money seizure to the CCB police is nothing but an act of hushing up of the case”.
Demanding that the Chief Minister should drop the Minister immediately, Mr Shetty urged for high level inquiry into the incident”.
“The JD(S)-Congress coalition government have transformed the entire Vidhana Soudha the seat of power into a corruption hub” he charged.
