Mangalore, Jan 10: Karavali Utsav-2014, a 45 days long event that showcases the culture and tradition of the Coastal region of Karnataka will begin on Sunday, January 12.
The event is being organized by Dakshina Kananda district administration.
Ashok Kumar, organizer, briefing about the utsav said, “The 45 days long event will have culture programmes, amusement games and exhibition cum sale.” He said that almost 75 percent of the stalls were booked already.
Cultural programmes will be held every evening by cultural teams from state and all over the country. Amusement like Tora Tora, Dragon Train, Columbus and Zig Zag will be available after January 15. Chand-Thara and Octopus are the special attraction among amusement, he said.
“There will be 32 large stalls in pavilion, 40 small stalls and 10 special stalls of plastic products, handlooms, households, handicrafts, eateries and other stalls expected to meet the demands of consumers,” he said.
“Businessman Abdul Salam had taken up the bidding of the Utsav with Rs 51, 50, 000. Since the Mysore Dasara stalls completed their exhibition, the same stalls are expected here this year. Even we have planned for floor mats and spray water to avoid dust allergy,” he added.
