Bengaluru, Apr 5: Multilingual actor Prakash Raj on Wednesday filed a police complaint against Mahesh Vikram Hegde, the co-founder of Kannada website Postcard News, saying the portal published offensive articles about him.

Raj cited two articles in the complaint. One of them scoffed at the actor, saying that after the death of his son, he deserted his wife and courted a danseuse. He has no business criticising Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath. The second article said Raj "had no fame" to file a defamatory case.

Police have registered an FIR under different sections of the IT Act.

Just days earlier, Hegde was arrested by the CCB for publishing a false article that a Jain muni was beaten up by Muslim youth in Nanjangud, Mysuru. The Jain muni was actually injured in a road accident.
