Bengaluru, Mar 8: Congress veteran B K Hariprasad has stoked a controversy by claiming that the Pulwama terror attack was a “fixed match” between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and neighboring country Pakistan.
Mr. Hariprasad told media persons here, “... If you look at the chain of events that have taken place after Pulwama, it looks like Mr. Modi had a match-fixing with Pakistan people.” He also claimed that the deadly Pulwama attack would not have happened “without the knowledge of the government.”
Hariprasad said, “(Union Minister) Ravi Shankar Prasad should clarify whether there was any match fixing between Imran Khan and PM Narendra Modi. Without their knowledge, this Pulwama attack would not have taken place. If you look at the chain of events that have taken place after Pulwama, looks like Narendra Modi had match-fixing with Imran Khan.”
Meanwhile, in a strong rejoinder, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad condemned Hariprasad’s statement “shameful”, ”deeply reprehensible” and “painful”. “BK Harisprasad crossed all limits of proprietary and decency with his statement. Is he equating India with the terrorist-hub of Pakistan?” he said. The Union Minister said that with these comments, Congress had “insulted the Armed forces and the sacrifices of the 40 CRPF jawans who lost their lives in Pakistan.”
