Mangalore, March 13: Professor M. Abdul Rahman, former vice-chancellor of Kannur and Calicut Universities released “Quthuvath” (footsteps), a souvenir of the School Of Qur'anic Studies, run by Zeenath Educational Trust, KC Road, Talapady, at the Patrika Bhavan here.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Rahman highlighted the importance of imparting moral and ethical values and guidance to young children along with the worldly education.
He congratulated the institution for deciding to launch a postgraduatioin course from the next academic year.
The institution offers a two-year PUC and a three-year BA (Arabic) course, which has been recognised by Kannur and Calicut Universities.
Arabic is the medium of instruction in the institution which has now entered into the 10th year. Kannada, Urdu, Malayalam and English are the other languages taught here. Enrolment for the 2012-2013 batch will begin from April, said Yasir Arafat, secretary of the trust.
S Abdul Khader, President of the Zeenath Educational Trust, and Umer U.H., chief of the Career Guidance and Information Centre were present.
