Bengaluru, Dec 5: Senior Congress leader S M Krishna on Sunday described as disgusting the huge amount of unaccounted for money seized from two senior engineers during an I-T raid and called for severe punishment against them.
“Mere suspension is not enough for such corrupt officials. Severe punishment should be given to them,” he told reporters, who sought his reaction to the huge amount of unaccounted money seized from residences of managing director of Cauvery Neeravari Nigam T N Chikkarayappa and Chief Planning Officer of State Highway Development Project in the PWD C S Jayachandra. He welcomed the Centre's decision to demonetise high-value notes, saying that it was necessary to curb black money.
“People of the country are one in supporting demonetisation. People are not doubting the intention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi...But the Centre could have done proper preparations before making the announcement,” he stated.
