Kundapur, Jul 23: The bandh jointly called by various like-minded organisations demanding speedy probe in the mysterious death of 17-year-old student Rathna Kottari from Byndoor was largely successful in the taluk of Kundapur on Wednesday.
The bandh saw good response in the entire taluk including the interior areas of Kundapur. All shops in the taluk remained closed in view of the bandh, including those in Byndoor limits.
Likewise, no express or service buses were found plying between Udupi and Kundapur on Wednesday, except for few government buses.
On the occasion, college students and citizens in Kundapur held a silent procession in protest of the death of Rathna Kottari.
The bandh was jointly called by Byndoor senior citizens' forum and Kundapur farmers' union, and was supported by various other organisations.
