Addressing the protestors, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Jagadish Shenava said that for the appeasement of the Muslim community, Tumkur district administration had arrested a HJV activist Raghavendra Ajekar for the sole reason that he was associated with the RSS and HJV.
He said that the Congress government was looking to suppress the Hindu society by filing false cases against the HJV activist.
Although there are innumerable instances of illegal cattle trafficking, love jihad, rape, drug and sex mafia which are against the Hindu society in the state, the government or the police department do not charge the perpetrators with Goonda Act. Even in the ghastly incident of kidnap, videography and blackmail of two students recently by a Muslim gang, the police department has not booked them under this act, he said.
The protestors demanded for an unconditional withdrawal of the charges pressed against HJV member Raghavendra Ajekar.
A memorandum was submitted in this regard to the Home Minister through the Deputy Commissioner.
Local HJV leaders Vasudev Gowda, Raviraj and Kishore, Bajrang Dal leaders Bhujanga Kulal and Sharan Pumpwell were present.
