Shivamogga, Oct 26: BJP which is on the downward spiral in the country due to failure of union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will have its immediate effect and the saffron party will meet a crushing defeat in Karnataka by-elections to three Lok Sabha and two Assembly seats to be held on November 3, Congress leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Friday.
Speaking to reporters on his visit to the city for campaigning for Shivamogga LS seat by-poll, he said the bad administration dished out by the Modi government will also result in BJP losing power in 2019 general elections as the financial situation in the country had been badly hit affecting the daily lives of the people due to lop sided policies of the union government.
The Chairman of the Congress-JDS Coordination Committee squarely blamed the Union Government for unprecedented increase in petrol and diesel prices as it had slapped huge tax burden on people.
It had also failed to provide jobs to the youth as per its promise before 2014 leading to rise in unemployment affecting the economy.
BJP had emerged as the largest party in Karnataka during 2018 Assembly elections not due to its popularity but disinformation campaign its leaders had unleashed against Congress which lost power.
