Riyadh, Dec 5: Major Talal Al-Shalhoob, spokesman of the directorate general of Jawazat, has said a video clip has gone viral on social media about a person in civilian dress talking to an Arab expatriate and threatening him by “giving him a final exit.” There is also a comment on the clip relating to Jawazat.
He said that after analysis of the video clip, it was found that it has no relation to any of the departments or employees of Jawazat. He also said that employees of the directorate general of Jawazat, in its customer service department, do not wear civilian dress
except at the airport.
Al-Shalhoob said that Jawazat gives all its services electronically through two services “Abshir and Muqeem.” All works related to it are processed electronically as per the requirements of beneficiaries without any Jawazat employee of Jawazat involved in the decision. There is no requirement for visiting the directorate personally, as the service is available electronically.
He said that the service the expatriate talked about in the video clip was not provided by Jawazat. Al-Shalhoob has urged people to not to spread incorrect and unconfirmed information and rumors.
He said that the directorate will follow up on all concerned departments to find the original source of the video clip which has gone viral. The culprit will be held accountable for relating it to people of Jawazat by taking legal action under the anti-information technology crime act and related laws.
