Dubai: Indian Cultural Society, Karnataka chapter - an NRI wing of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), conducted a symposium on ‘Present Indian Political Scenario and Alternative Politics’ on February 20, at Jordanian Club Dubai, UAE.
Speaking on the occasion, Elyas Muhammad Thumbe, National Working Committee Member, SDPI, said that all Indian citizens should unite irrespective of cast creed and color to strengthen the democracy and secularism. The communal parties are gaining power through polarizing the voters communally. The fascist forces are disrupting the secular fabric of the nation by spreading hate among the religion. The government is least bothered to curb the communal encounters of the fanatic fascist groups, he said.
He said that an alternative political solution is needed to tackle the situation and to bring the development to all strata of people as the people in India have lost trust on major parties.
He said SDPI is a best choice of the people as an alternate political party for the development of the minorities, backward communities and deprived sections of our country. The party is striving to realize its dream of a country with ‘Freedom from fear’ and ‘Freedom from hunger’.
Mr. Nasir Kaaraje, President of Indian Cultural Society, Karnataka Chapter, UAE inaugurated the programme and briefed about the activities of Indian Cultural Society.
He welcomed the judgment of Supreme Court asking the union government to enables the NRIs to vote, and urged the NRIs to verify their names are entered in the voters list.
Munavvar Gen. Sec. Indian Cultural Society, UAE ,Razak Shabaan Uchila, Vice President, Karnataka Chapter, Nilam President, Tamil Nadu Chapter, Hameed Savanoor, Ashfak Mysore and Abbas Bantwal, Members of Executive Council, Karnataka Chapter were also present.
Mr.Mohd Ali Muloor President, Indian cultural society Deira, welcomed. Irfaan Yermal compered the program and Arif Makikeri, General Secretary of Deira Division proposed the vote of thanks.
