Mumbai, Nov 21: A 23-year-old man (fan) identified as Shah Rukh Nabi alias Shera was arrested from Uttar Pradesh for threatening to bump off Salman Khan's father Salim Khan for not sharing the super star's number. Though the name of the arrested is Shah Rukh, he is in fact a fan of Salman Khan.
Shah Rukh got the number of Salim Khan through social media and posed as 'gangster Chhota Shakeel's aide' to threaten him when he did not share Salman Khan's number. Salim, his manager and Salman's bodyguard said the caller was identified as 'DGP Saheb' (director general of police) on the phone.
The caller was tracked down to Kareli late on November 17. Reports said Shah Rukh, from JTB Nagar, was staying in Bandra in Mumbai with relatives. He returned to Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh after an argument with Salim's manager, Vikas Chaya, on October 6. Mumbai Police spokesperson DCP Manjunath Singe said that the caller identified himself as gangster Chhota Shakeel's aide.
Salim received calls from November 13 to 15. "The caller made at least eight calls to Salim and even his manager, who lodged a complaint, and an FIR was registered on November 15," said an officer of Bandra police station.
The caller claimed he was looking for a godfather to get a break in the film industry. Police said the miscreant has eight cases against him, including extortion, attempt to murder and under the Arms Act.
He was booked under various IPC sections and under IT Act section 66 (C) (identity theft).
