Mangalore, Jan 7: Senior BJP leaders Sushma Swaraj, Uma Bharti and Smriti Irani will be participating in a protest rally being organized by Jagruta Mahila Vedike against Deralakatte forced sex case.
Announcing this at a press meet here honorary president of Vedike Kamala Prabhakar Bhat said that the protest rally would commence from Ambedkar Circle at 10:30 a.m. and culminate in front of Deputy Commissioners office in the city.
Stating that the youth who had been abducted along with the girl by miscreants was not a victim, Bhat alleged that he had relationship with the accused.
Lashing out at Congress government, she said that ever since Congress came to power in Karnataka the cases of cattle theft, rape, immoral activities and love-jihad has increased in coastal districts.
It could be recalled here that a Muslim boy and a Hindu girl, studying in a private medical college at Deralakatte had been kidnapped last month by a group of miscreants, who forced to engage in sexual acts, filmed and tried to blackmail the couple. Police have arrested eight persons in connection with the case. Police on Sunday said that the investigating officer in the case has submitted a memo to the jurisdictional court to add sections 376 (rape) and 376D (gang rape) of IPC in crime number 192/2013.
