Manipal, Feb 17: In a major breakthrough in the case of uploading intimate photos of a girl and boy at Udupi which triggered massive protests by Safrron brigades across coastal Karnataka, six Bajarang Dal men including leader of Go Rakshak have been arrested by the Brahmavar police.
Go Rakshak Pramukh Dinesh Mendon, Rithesh Shalin Athrady, Sandeep Parkala, Manoj, Rathan, Pranesh and Putta were the arrested.
It is said that Dinesh Mendon was first arrested on the charges of robbing Muhammad Yaseer who was initially accused of uploading the obscene pictures of his girlfriend on Facebook.
Sources said that Yaseer's another girlfriend in Dubai who enraged over his extra affairs contacted few Bajarang Dal men to 'teach him a lesson'.
The whole plot went awry when Bajarang Dal men uploaded nude pictures on public domain after blackmailing Yaseer.
Subsequently, police arrested Mr Mendon on the charges of robbing and blackmailing. His arrest however triggered protest which turned violent. Saffronists also vandalized Brahmavar police station and office of Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake.

Meanwhile police also arrested seven persons on charges of rioting and unlawful assembly at Brahmavar.
The arrested are Bajarang Dal leader Sunil Kumar, Ganesh, Ravi Shetty, Suresh Mendon, Kushala Nayaka, Dinakara Nayaka and Raghavendra Poojary.
They were sent to 14-day judicial custody.
As many as three cases had been registered against 50 others including VHP District President Suprasad Shetty, BJP leader Vilas Nayak at the Brahmavar police station.
