Mangaluru, Oct 4: The Urva Police in Mangaluru have arrested two persons from Bengaluru on the charge of blackmailing a city based man and extorting money from him.
The police said that Aditya alias Ashwini (19), resident of Subedar Palya, Yeshwantpur, had impersonated as a woman and got in touch with the complainant through Facebook.
After luring the complainant and getting his photograph, the main accused began blackmailing him and took Rs. 65,000 in cash from him at Yeshwantpur.
When the accused continued to demand money, the complainant informed the police. The police also arrested his accomplice H.S. Arun, a resident of Basaveshwaranagar, Kanakapura town.
The operation was carried out by Urwa police under the guidance of Mangaluru police commissioner T R Suresh, ACP (Crime) Uma Prashanth and ACP Uday Nayak.
