Mangalore, Jan 25: Health and Family Welfare Minister U T Khader has said that former union minister B Janardhan Poojary has all rights to demand Congress' ticket to contest from Mangalore Lok Sabha constituency in impending polls.
“Poojary is a veteran leader of the Congress. He has all rights to demand party's ticket. All party workers in the district including myself support him”, he said.
Stressing on the need for unity within the party workers, Mr Khader said that high command's decision would be final in finalizing the candidates for all constituencies including Dakshina Kannada.
“Anyone can be a ticket aspirant. It is the high command who will take a final call,” he said adding that all party workers in the district must campaign for the party's candidate without involving in any kind of groupism.
Replying to a question about the possibility of Harsha Moily's entry into the poll fray, Mr Khader said: “During an informal discussion, Harsha Moily has clarified me that he would definitely support Janardhan Poojary if high command gives him party's ticket.”
