Udupi, Aug 6: Two houses, three agricultural fields and a banana plantation were damaged in rain in Udupi district on Tuesday.
According to the Kundapur taluk office, a wall of Chandu Janna’s house collapsed due to rain in Hombady-Mandady village and the loss was estimated at Rs. 15,000. Three agricultural fields were flooded and the crops destroyed in Kavarady village.
The fields belonged to Muttu Poojary, Rajani Shedti and Vasanti Shedti. The damage has been estimated at Rs. 5,000 each.
According to the Karkala taluk office, the tiles of Rukiyabi’s house at Kasaba village were blown away in strong winds . The damage has been estimated at Rs. 30,000.
Nearly 800 banana plants belonging to Kariyanna Poojary at Jarkal village were destroyed. The damage has been estimated at Rs. 25,000.
