Mangalore, Dec 22: A private hospital providing quality healthcare in collaboration with government hospitals for the poor is indeed a noble service” said minister for health and family welfare, UT Khadar.
He was speaking after launching the 'Grameena Arogya Card' scheme of Indiana Hospital in the city on Sunday in collaboration with Tiny Heart Foundation.
Mr Khadar further said through delivering modern and innovative health care facilities in concessional charges for economically weaker families, the Indiana hospital is showing concern towards society. “Even state government has come up with health care facilities like arogyashri, janaushadi, arogya sanjeevini and other,” he added.
“Health facilities by the hospital have to reach every village. All hospitals should deliver the best facilities,” said minister for youth service and sports, K Abhayachandra Jain.
About the 'Grameena Arogya Card'
This scheme has special concession for economically backward families referred by elected representatives. Under the scheme cardiac diseases, kidney, cancer, eye sight problem and stroke patients will get special discount of 40 per cent on hospital bill.
Member of Parliament, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA, JR Lobo, Fr Ravi Santhosh Kamath, vice chairman of Indiana Hospital, Abdul Latheef, Dr Ramesh, Dr Zakhariya, Dr ZK Mistri, Haneefa, Mumtaz Shukura, Musa Charkalan, Monzi Joy, Nagavarma Jain, medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr Devanand and others were present on the occasion.
