He was addressing a public rally to campaign for the party's Bantwal candidate Rajesh Naik at B C Road on Friday.

Appealing party workers to put their heart and soul into campaigning for Bantwal candidate Rajesh Naik, Mr. Gandhi said that it was the effort put in by party workers of coastal Karnataka that helped BJP come to power in the state. There is a need to work with the same enthusiasm so that the party continues to maintain hold over the state, he urged.
Claiming that he knows Mr. Naik from several years, Mr. Gandhi said that he is a simpleton and an honest politician. If voted, he will surely work for all sections of society, he opined.
