Mangalore, Dec 12: Serial killer Mohan Kumar who had made several young women to death by administering them cyanide, promising them marriage, is all set to face his fate on December 17 as the Fourth Additional District and Sessions Court will give its verdict on this day.
The Court has completed hearing in the murder cases of Anita from Bantwal, Leela from Vamanapadau and Sunanda from Sullia on November 30. Though the Court was to pronounce its verdict on December 9, it was postponed to December 17.
Anita missing case led to nabbing of Mohan Kumar and subsequently the case took the face of serial killing and in November 21, 2011, the Fast Track Court in Mangalore started the hearing.
The hearing went on for one year and during this course apart from the said three cases the Court also took up cases of Shashikala from Kariyangala Sanaribettu, Hemavathi from Idkidu, Bantwal, Yashodha from Meginamalady, Vinutha from Padumajalu in Puttur, Sujatha from Bajpe Guddabettu and Kamala from Kumpala, who were also allegedly killed by Mohan Kumar.
The case was then transferred to Fourth Additional District Sessions Court and the Court started the hearing on June 10. This is the first verdict in the serial killing case of 21 young woman, that had shook the entire region.
Experts say that this verdict will have a huge impact on the verdict of the remaining cases pending against the accused.
