Mangaluru, Nov 28: Nearly two months after a 24-year-old youth from Mangaluru taluk was abducted, the police came to know that he was murdered by the abductors.
Safwan (24), a resident of 8th block in Chokkabettu, Katipalla near Surathkal was abducted by a gang of five miscreants in broad daylight on October 5 in a vehicle bearing registration No KA 20 MA 2844.
Based on the information from an eye witness, Abdul Hameed, father of Safwan, had filed a complaint in Surathkal station on the same day. The police have finally managed to nab two of the five accused.
The police gave the names of arrested persons as Mohammed Faizal Ibrahim Sheikh (36) of Moodbidri and Sahil Ismail (22) of Krishnapura. The two were arrested from a house on S.V. Road in Bandra (West) in Mumbai on Sunday.
The police said that the arrested persons told them that they murdered Safwan in Karkala and dumped the body somewhere in the Agumbe Ghat. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Hanumantharaya said that they are verifying the information.
