Kuwait: In a meeting held at Ambassador’s office, assurances were given by H.E. the ambassador of India Mr. Sunil K. Jain to the officials of Welfare Kerala Kuwait that he will ask the Governing Body of Indiancommunity school Kuwait to redact the constitution of the School on their web site.
As many complaints were recently raised from different cornersagainst the current school board and administrative body,Welfare Kerala Kuwait Leaders asked H.E. Ambassador Mr. Jain to intervene and do the needful for ensuring the transparency of school activities, to conduct proper auditing of school accounts and to take measures for conducting Board Of Trustees election in a fair and democratic way with the representation of Indian community, socio-cultural organizations, teachersand parents.
They also asked to limit the term of the Board to 2 years and to bring the activities under the direct purview of the Indian embassy, as numerous complaints were received on the unfair and illegitimate execution of construction works, repair works, uniform and text book distribution etc., without proper tender process and approved procedures.
The Ambassador, H.E. Sunil Jainhas also been entreated to take measures toensure that the school and its assets continue to remain the property of Indian community and to reduce the fee structure so as it become affordable to the less privileged society of the Indian community working in Kuwait. Ambassador praised the various charity and humanitarian activities conducted by Welfare Kerala Kuwait members for the Indians in general and Keralite in particular.
The delegation also requested H.E the Ambassador for making seamless legal aid available for the common employees and to intervene in drug related cases in which innocent Indians were convicted as they became easy prey to the drug mafia.
President Khaleelurahman headed the delegation followed by vice presidents Anwar Sayeed, Aniyan Kunjhu, Mini Venugopal; General Secretaries Sanoj and Layik. Secretary Razeena Mohiudeen and Public Relation convener Praveen Ramachandran was also accompanied the delegation.
