Bengaluru, Jun 18: A traffic constable has filed a complaint, claiming that a woman on a two-wheeler attacked him when he tried to stop her from rushing towards AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi's convoy last week.
Venkatesh R G, 26, from KG Halli traffic police station, said that he was manning traffic near the Cunningham Road-Queen's Road junction on June 12 when the incident occurred.
Rahul's convoy was provided zero-traffic facility and police had stopped all vehicles in the area. However, a woman on a scooter (KA 03-HK-2976) came out from a building basement and rode along with the convoy for some distance despite attempts to stop her, Venkatesh said in his complaint.
"We ran behind the vehicle and directed her to stop at once. She abused and attacked me with sandals before speeding off. When asked, she said her name was Sarika," the constable added.
