Bengaluru, Aug 2 Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa today exhorted the Senior officials to address the grievances of the common people and discharge their duties on humaneterian ground.
Addressing a meeting of the Deputy Commissioners, Chief Executive Officers and Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Additional Chief Secretaries, here on Friday, the new Chief Minister warned stating that “I will not tolerate any leniency as for as delivering good governance to the people”.
Stating that the officials should adopt themselves to punctuality in attending the office, discharging their duties and come out with results, Yediyurappa assured to give full protection to the officials to render selfless services.
Stating that the government will get better reputation if the burocrats function well, he said that “responsibility lies with you on this matter”.
Maintaining that the administration at all levels, especially at the Districts, has collapsed and there is need to bring it back to the track, Chief Minister urged the officials to receive people, do field visits and interact with the citizens and address to the public grievances.
Advising the Secretaries and Chief Secretaries, to make it a habit to go to Districts and Taluka places, Chief Minister said that “the higher officials should function in an exemplary manner and it will have cascading effect down-the-line”.
He told the officials to speed-up the drought-relief works in the rain-starved districts. “Cow-shelters should be provided with sufficient fodder, drinking water problems must be tackled and employment should be generated in the drought-hit areas to prevent people from migrating to other States in search of livelyhood”
Several senior officials including Chief Secretary VIjaya Bhaskar, Additional Chief Secetary V Ramana Reddy, Principal Secretaries and secretaries of various departments were also present on the occasion.
