It is said that he was standing near the water body, when he lost balance and fell into the pond. Though he was rushed to Alva's hospital, he was declared dead.

R K Enterprises is a renowned name in Moodbidri circle, which takes up orders of lightning and laying pendals for various occasions. Likewise, on the day of the death, Rajesh was at the venue of the Kambla event, supervising the lightning works.

He had bought a new mobile for his younger brother and when the buffaloes were released to the field, Rajesh was enthralled and was engrossed in clicking some snaps for his brother over the mobile.

When the buffaloes entered the field and splashed water, Rajesh lost his body balance and fell into a pond right next to the field.

Due to the cheering of the onlookers seeing the buffaloes, Rajesh's fatal fall went unnoticed.

No boundaries

The pond in which Rajesh died did not have a boundary. Though the organizers had put up a barricade last year during the event, this year they had left it open. The pond was filled with mucky water and was surrounded by weeds.

Source of support

Rajesh who had a B.Com degree from Alva's College and a MBA from Alva's Engineering College was a pillar of support for his father. Right from childhood, Rajesh took keen interest in his father's business.

Over the last four years Rajesh had joined his father full-time and was seen running the business efficiently.

The dead body was brought to his ancestral home near Mahaveer College, after post mortem.

Minister K Abhaychandra Jain, former minister Amarnath Shetty, Alva's Foundation Chairman M Mohan Alva among others have condoled Rajesh's death.
