Mangaluru, Dec 24: A team of police from Mangaluru has reached Mumbai following the arrest of fugitive gangster Ravi Pujari's wife Padma and their 14-year-old son at Mumbai International Airport earlier this week.

Once the Mangaluru police team ascertains that that the arrested duo are indeed wife and son of Ravi Pujari, the city police will initiate further action against them, said Mangauru police chief R Hithendra.
It is learnt that ACP Tilakchandra would seek help from former encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma who was responsible for arrest of Ravi Pujari's wife in 2005.
All future legal course of action against the woman, if she indeed is, Padma, will depend on her being positively identified by the police officer, Hithendra said, adding city police has kept its legal options open in such an eventuality.
Padma was on red corner notice and detained as soon as she landed. She was arrested in 2005 in connection with a fake passport case. She had forged documents to obtain her passport and those of her daughters. She was released on bail after a month, but fled within six months by secretly making another passport from Mangaluru.
