Mangaluru, Dec 14: Calling ISIS an anti-Islamic organization, which is poised to defame Islam and Muslims, Samastha Kerala Jamiyyatul Ulema vice president Syed Haidar Ali Shihab Thangal Panakkad said that there is no room for terrorism in Islam.
Speaking after inaugurating ‘Samastha-90’, a mega convention as part of the 90th anniversary of the religious body at Nehru Maidan in the city on Sunday, he called upon the Muslim youths to follow the true message of Quran and Sunnah and stay away from evil forces.
He also said that the intolerance is increasing in the society in recent days and minorities are being targeted throughout the country.
Sadly, media and social media also are bashing the minorities and justifying the increasing intolerance and communalism in the country, he lamented.
“However, Indian Muslims should not lose patience. It is our responsibility to sacrifice our time and wealth to establish peace and harmony in the society,” he said.
B Ramanath Rai, the district in charge minister of Dakshina Kannada, who addressed the conference, said that good people of all religions should come together to defeat communal forces, who indulge in rumour mongering to disrupt peace.
Thwaka Ahmed Muslimar, Khazi of Mangaluru and a galaxy of religious leaders from Kerala and coastal Karnataka took part in the convention attended by thousands of people.
