Bengaluru, Nov 6: Terming the Karnataka BJP govt’s ‘love jihad’ rants as “absurd and ridiculous”, PFI state president Yasir Hasan has reminded that the police department, investigation agencies and central government have already clarified that love jihad doesn’t even exist.
“Amidst the allegations Kerala and Karnataka police had investigated love jihad issue and came to a conclusion that such a thing never existed. NIA has confirmed that love Jihad is a tool used by right wing extremists to polarise the communities and is part of its smear campaign. This February, BJP led central govt had affirmed that there's no report of love jihad in a written order. Yet state BJP leaders are busy propagating this illusionary love jihad by giving life to it. This is a matter of shame,” he said in a press release.
The chief Minister and his ministers have been speaking on bringing unlawful conversion act. As a matter of fact this act is a direct attack on the fundamental rights i.e, Freedom of Religion. BJP is creating an atmosphere of fear and unrest, by its propaganda on love jihad which doesn't even exist in true sense. Mandir construction, cow slaughter, Ghar vapsi are BJP's trump card on politics of emotion. Since 2009 the Sangh parivar has brought this phantasm into limelight by which it is successful in dividing the communities, the release said.
Yasir Hasan also urged people to be aware of Sangh Parivar's hate and communal political polarisation and also called people of the state to come forward and reject the plot of false propaganda spread by Hindutva fanatics.
